Me, being a city kid, always thought pineapples grew on trees, like coconuts. Well much to my surprise (or embarrassment), we were driving by a pineapple plantation, and lo and behold - they grew near the ground. Almost like strawberries, or cucumbers.

Dole owns a whole island in the Hawaiian archipelago, and has many plantations on the various islands where we stayed.

Well what visit to Hawaii wouldn't be complete without getting a hawaiian style shirt?

I haven't even started to talk about some of the nightly activities on the island, like the pig roasts and such.
