Our activities are limited to Colombia at this time. We support participatory community development initiatives with people disadvantaged by circumstance or disability. Our goal is to promote collective actions that enhance development of knowledge, leadership, and volunteerism and that lead to enhanced quality of life and dignity and to provide impoverished people and people with disabilities with the training and assistance needed to improve the quality of their life. Calgary Reads is an early literacy initiative changing the lives of struggling grade 1 and 2 readers and their families in Calgary and area schools. Calgary Reads is also taking steps to educate the importance of language through reading, singing, playing and talking, as building blocks to literacy, for newborns through to kindergarten. Realizing that literacy starts with language means realizing that even a toddler or preschooler is getting ready to read. Link here. |

Eye Wheel Help is a compassion project of ‘Youth With A Mission’ (YWAM) Canada, which profiles a history of successful refugee sponsorship and newcomer’s assistance in previous years. Launched in 2008 by Ha and Brenda Nguyen, within 4 short years, ‘Eye Wheel Help’ has mobilized hundreds of donors, volunteers and resources to provide 2300 eye surgeries, 1200 wheelchairs and hundreds of basic medical checkups for the poor people in remote villages of Vietnam. Garry Pedros Paintings. I once was a right-handed man. When I lost the use of my right arm, it took me three years to learn to draw with my left hand. Even then, you needed a magnifying glass to see what I had drawn! For the past 25 years Garry has been selling his prints, ink drawings, ink, watercolour, paintings and pastels door to door. Garry has sold to a minimum of 20,000 people from all over the world and is now in Calgary painting downtown Calgary scenes of people and places in oils. Link here. |

Global Vision Ministries reaching out to Eastern Europe for over 40 years with 500 new churches planted in Former Soviet Union. We’ve also facilitated the purchase and reconstruction of nearly 200 buildings for Churches. Global Vision engages in Humanitarian Relief. We support rehabilitation centers to restore former addicts and alcoholics to re-enter society as responsible citizens and train many of them for missionary work. Varsity Bible Church have made a decision to intentionally develop little churches within the church as a strategy for both discipleship and church planting. We take our model of "little churches within the church" from Jakob Spenser of the 17th century movement. He designed this "little churches" model to help people grow deeper in their devotion to God and to one another, and to ensure that the people of God were truly disciple and not just attending church.
